Fillers
Fillers are a cosmetic treatment used to add volume, smooth out wrinkles, and improve the overall appearance of the skin. The procedure involves injecting a substance, such as hyaluronic acid or collagen, into the targeted area.
The first step in the filler procedure is a consultation with a qualified medical practitioner. During the consultation, the practitioner will examine the area to be treated and discuss the patient’s goals and expectations for the procedure. They will also review the patient’s medical history and assess their suitability for the treatment.
The procedure generally takes about a half an hour, depending on the number of areas being treated.
Patients generally tolerate the procedure well with only minimal discomfort. At Rose MedSpa and Wellness we offer patients the option of a nerve block or just a topical cream.
After the treatment, the patient may experience some minor swelling, redness, and bruising, but this should subside within a few days. Also it is common for the patient to feel ‘lumps’ in the treated area. This may resolve with massage or will subside as the filler integrates with the tissue. In cases of vascular occlusions or if you are simply not satisfied with the appearance, the treated area can be reversed using Hyaluronidase.
Patients are advised to NOT touch,manipulate/massage, or rub the treated area as this can cause the filler to migrate. You may apply a clean, cool compress to the area for 20 minute intervals. Patients are advised to avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sun exposure for 24-48 hours after the procedure.
The results of the filler treatment are typically visible immediately, and patients can expect to enjoy the benefits of the treatment for several months to a year, depending on the type of filler used and the individual's metabolism. To maintain the results, patients may need to schedule additional treatments in the future.
