PRP/PRF Injections

Cosmetic PRP injections are a type of non-surgical cosmetic treatment that uses the patient's own blood to rejuvenate their skin. PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma, which is a concentrated solution of platelets and growth factors derived from the patient's blood.

The procedure typically begins with a consultation with a medical professional who will evaluate the patient's skin concerns and determine if PRP injections are an appropriate treatment. If so, the patient's blood will be drawn and placed into a centrifuge to separate the PRP from the rest of the blood components.Once the PRP is extracted and prepared, the medical professional will use a small needle to inject the PRP solution into the targeted areas of the patient's face.  The injections are typically administered in a grid-like pattern, ensuring that each area is evenly treated. PRP can also be added to other services such as Radiofrequency (RF) Microneedling for enhanced results and healing.

The injection process is usually quick and relatively painless, with little to no downtime required. Patients may experience mild redness or swelling at the injection sites immediately following the procedure, but this typically resolves within a day or two. You may apply a clean cold compress to the area for 10-15 minute intervals to reduce swelling and discomfort. You should avoid rubbing the area immediately after the procedure.

It is important to know that there is a risk of bruising for a few weeks post treatment.

Over the next few weeks post injection, the PRP solution will work to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate the patient's skin. The full effects of the treatment can take several months to become fully apparent, but most patients will notice an improvement in the texture, tone, and overall appearance of their skin.
