Morpheus8 RF Microneedling
RF Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that combines traditional microneedling with radiofrequency energy to improve the appearance of the skin. This treatment is designed to stimulate your own body's natural response to produce collagen, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and other skin imperfections, and tighten the skin. By targeting the deeper layers of the skin, tissue can be remodeled to reveal a more radiant, youthful appearance.
First a topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area for approximately 30-45 minutes. During this time, the nurse will then draw 2 vials of blood. The two vials of blood will then be placed in a centrifuge to spin down the PRP (platelet-rich-plasma). This is later used post treatment as PRP has strong healing components by generating fresh cells, structural tissue, and improving circulation. During the procedure, a device with small, sterile needles is used to puncture the skin and create tiny microchannels. Radiofrequency energy is then delivered through these channels, heating the deeper layers of the skin and triggering the body’s natural healing response. This response leads to the production of new collagen and elastin, which can help to smooth out wrinkles, fine lines, and tighten the skin. After the procedure, the nurse will then topically apply the PRP, then antibiotic ointment to the treatment area.
*you may opt to receive the PRP under eye-see the PRP procedure description.
RF Microneedling can be used on many areas of the body, including the face, neck, abdomen, thighs, buttocks, and chest.
Microneedling can be performed on all skin types.
Unlike a full facelift or CO2-type laser traditionally used to treat skin laxity, microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that has minimal downtime from work. You will need an assessment by a healthcare provider to decide which treatment regimen is best.
Typically patients numb for about 30-45 minutes. The procedure itself typically takes about 60 minutes, depending on the size of the treatment area.
The number of treatments required varies depending on the individual and their specific skin concerns. However, most patients see significant improvement after just one treatment, with optimal results typically seen after a series of three to six treatments, spaced four to six weeks apart.
Visible results can be seen within a few days, but typically after three weeks the most noticeable results appear. Improvements continue up to three months after the treatment.
Microneedling can be used in the same treatment session, or a few days after other treatments. It can also be used with other InMode energy treatments or injectables to achieve more extensive results.
The treatment area should be clean, free of lotion, make-up, and sunscreen. You must ensure you do not have a sunburn and avoid sun exposure and/or the use of a tanning bed or self tanning products. You should also avoid chemical peels for 2 weeks prior to treatment and avoid any harsh skincare products for 1 week prior.
It is recommended that you do not wash your face for at least 4 hours after PRP is applied. You may wash your face after that time but you should treat your skin gently and avoid scrubbing. You will be given a tube of antibiotic ointment to be applied up to 24 hours post procedure. After this time, you should use moisturizer and avoid direct sun exposure. Most patients experience erythema (redness) 1-3 days post treatment. Moderate swelling and sunburn sensation are also common. Your skin may crust and peel for 2-7 days post treatment. Microchannels in the skin typically close within 24 hours. During this time, you should avoid touching your face, or ensure you have clean hands if you do so. You should also ensure that anything that touches your face is clean like your cell phone, bridge of glasses, etc. You should avoid sun exposure, hot showers, and aggressive soaps.
